Qian Zhiyong Small. Meth, Sichuan University: Non-enzymatic Hydrogen Peroxide Electrochemical Sensor and Its Application in Cancer Diagnosis

The diagnosis of malignant tumors is very important for clinical treatment selection decisions. Current imaging and pathological diagnosis methods often cannot provide important quantitative molecular information in tumors. The tumor microenvironment has been proven to contain hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). In view of this, Professor Qian Zhiyong of Sichuan University proposed a biosensitive and efficient H2O2 electrochemical sensor based on PtNi nanoparticles and nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide (PtNi-N-GO), which has a low detection limit ( 2.8×10-9 M), fast response time (<6 s) and good anti-interference performance.

Key points of this article:

(1) The sensor uses H2O2 as a molecular marker, which can successfully capture H2O2 in cancer cells. In addition, it can also effectively detect tumor tissues, adjacent tissues and normal tissues.

(2) This research shows that the H2O2 sensor has the potential to quickly detect tumor tissues, so this technology also provides a new method for tumor pathological diagnosis independent of traditional pathology laboratories.
